our story

where it all started

The Page One Project began as a mentorship programme supporting drama school students following the 2020 resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement. It was created to serve as a support system, recognising the vital role of representation and community.

As a well-being practitioner, our founder Laura participated in numerous conversations that dealt with the existing and ongoing mental health effects of these experiences. These conversations deepened as she began supporting mental health on productions.

So, the team came together with a shared purpose. We asked ourselves: How can we best support individuals while continuing to push important conversations forward? How can we work proactively advocating for change and empower others to do the same?

We've dedicated our time to research, study and listening, honing our expertise so we can do just that. To support, guide, and empower.

passionate about

Nurturing Inclusivity

In the arts

At The Page One Project, we believe everyone deserves equal opportunities to be seen, heard and to express themselves creatively, regardless of background or identity. We strive to change the narrative for underrepresented individuals in the arts and create environments where all can thrive. Inclusivity to us means creating working environments, policies and systems where everyone feels valued and supported. It means actively engaging and embracing diversity but not without promoting equity. We aim to support and honour the individual perspectives, experiences, and identities of people.

Because everyone deserves to feel the arts are a place where they can belong!

Our Clients

“We really enjoy working with The Page One Project. Their willingness to collaborate with us based on the specific requirements of our productions is always appreciated, and we love how energetic, informative and accessible the sessions are. We have had great feedback from all companies who attended this training and include them as part of every rehearsal process.”
